During the 22-23rd February 2025 weekend, I was invited to preview the Rainforest Wild Asia, Asia’s first adventure-themed zoological park and Singapore’s 5th zoo.
Located at 20 Mandai Lake Rd, Singapore 729825, the entrance of Rainforest Wild Asia is near Bird Paradise at Mandai Wildlife West and is not easy to miss. Let us look at what’s exciting about this newest addition to the Singapore Zoo Family.

Important points to note:
- Rainforest Wild ASIA will officially open to the public on 12 March 2025. Not all activities were available during the preview, such as the 3-hour Wild Apex Adventure and Wild Cavern Adventure, both optional courses for the very keen.
- Currently, there are discounted ticket packages to celebrate the park’s opening. You can check them out here. (These are really good prices, up to 50% off)

The Rainforest Wildlife ASIA park is divided into 8 sections, served by 7 forest treks, 3 Adventure+ activities and 2 Black Adventure courses.

Once you enter the park, you will be greeted with a good amount of moisture/fog, which is great for cooling down in Singapore’s climate and probably gives one a feeling of mystique.

From this point onwards, one gets to embark on one’s choice of adventure with various routes, depending on how adventurous one is.
As more avid adventurers, we headed straight for the Log Crossing Trek instead of the much easier-to-walk covered shelters.

A few steps into the trek, we were greeted with the unmistakable smell of the forest floor, with the tree tops providing a good amount of cover from the sun above.

If observant, one can spot some of the park’s inhabitants, from a pair of deer, tigers, a peacock and even a bear along the forest treks. Being adventure-themed, visitors are encouraged to actually explore on their own.

Some 36 species of animals are allowed to roam freely within their habitats, and one can actually get up close to some of them.

Exploring ahead, we soon hit the Root Hollow Trek and, soon, the Lower Stream Trek, which is characterised by a stream flowing through the length of it.
After which, we decided to make a turn for the Kasrt Loop trek, making our way to the peaks in the park where the Francois’ langurs live, a first in Singapore.

In the same area, one also gets access to rock-scaling adventures as part of the Wild Apex Adventure route, which was unavailable during the preview.

Continuing our way, we soon entered the Elevated walkways, a series of well-paved walkways for those not as adventure-inclined, which led us to the Outpost, a small building that serves as a resting point with its own store selling snacks

A bonus point is that some of the elevated walkways provide a good amount of light and shadows for photo-taking opprotunities.

Adventure+ activities.
Beyond the 7 forest treks, there are two Adventure+ activities.
One unique characteristic of Rainforest Wild ASIA is that visitors get to choose their own level of adventure – from a leisure stroll across the rainforest floor to rock-scaling or jumping off a 13 meters high platform (safely of course).
For adventure junkies, the Canopy Jump is where one steps off a 13-meter or 20-meter platform and experiences the exhilarating rush of free fall with a gradual descent while taking in the stunning vistas of the park.

Suitable for all ages, the AIA Vitality Bounce provides excitement at a more leisurely pace; soar up to 7m above ground at this open sky-bouncing play area.
Here, one gets to bounce around three zones, navigate a climbing net, and finish the area with a plunge down a 9m slide— all while surrounded by the beauty of the lush forest canopy.
To complete our visit, we hit the Caverns area, an impressive built-up area that provides visitors with a cave-exploration experience while learning about cave formation and related things.

Part of a 3-hour course if one signs up for it, we had fun with the Critter crawl, a 60-meter cave tunnel for a bit of ‘cave-exploration’ while getting up close to hissing cockroaches through a glass floor panel.

And with this, our visit ended with the beautiful photo-taking spot near the exit.

Thank you for reading.
