With the launch of the Fujifilm X-S20 (my full review here) at the Fujifilm X-Summit (coverage here) in Bangkok on 24 May 2023, I had the privilege to trawl the streets of Bangkok during my 2 night stay and so here’s a visual diary of the sights I was blessed to be able to enjoy.
Equipment used:

And of course, we would not miss the Chinatown of Bangkok, with its lights and endless bustle among the hustling.
This article will be light on word-count, instead simply touching on what the X-Trans IV and X-Processor V combo unique to the X-S20 brings to the user.

For the Chinatown night, the X-S20 was set in the film simulation, Provia, Fujifilm’s most commonly used. The X-S20 similar to its more expensive siblings, the X-H2S, X-H2 and X-T5 sports the same collation of 19 film simulations including the newest Nostalgic Negative.

Amongst the bustle & chaos of lights, the X-S20’s auto focus performed admirably well, easily as good as what the X-H2 or the X-T5 would bring to the table.
in AF-S, not even tracking with face/eye detection on

Seafood caught and cooked on the spot in the middle of the street? Bangkok has that.
Pratunam market here we go next!

Pratunam is an easy district to find no matter where you are in Bangkok thanks to the 88-storey tall Baiyoke Sky Hotel next to it.

Here I decided to go with another one of my favorite film simulations, Classic Chrome

Every avid shopper will know of the attractive wide variety of goods are on offer at Pratunam market, no matter the size of your budget. Pratunam is one of Bangkok’s most colourful and chaotic mess/accumulation of stalls of every size, type and budget.

With the clean-up done during Covid-19 closures, the huge plus is that the market is now way cleaner and tidier (yeap, I know it still looks chaotic). In fact a fellow photographer commented that the ground of Pratunam market now is actually cleaner than the ground of Singapore’s Bugis Street and I agree.

Food, clothes, bags, basically even motorcycles weaving in and out of the passageways.

Stepping out of the inner market areas, one gets hit of course by Bangkok’s heat and humidity.
